How the Euro standard relates to ULEZ

Petrol vehicles: usually need to meet Euro 4 or newer to be ULEZ-compliant.
Diesel vehicles: usually need to meet Euro 6 to be ULEZ-compliant.
Other fuel types (hybrid, gas, etc.): rules vary and depend on how the vehicle is classified.
The Euro standard mainly controls pollutants like NOx and particulates, while CO₂ figures are used more for tax and climate policies. A low CO₂ car can still be non-compliant if it doesn't meet the NOx/PM limits for its Euro class.
